Uptown Valet Inc., Minneapolis, Minnesota
Effective date: October 19, 2026
Uptown Valet Inc. (“Uptown Valet”, “we”, “us”, “our team”) runs valet parking at restaurants, hotels and private events in the Minneapolis area. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers guests who use our valet service, including our car request page, card payments, and email and text receipts; people who visit uptownvalet.net or ask us to valet an event; and our employees, who use the Uptown Valet employee app.
The short version
We collect only what we need to park your car, take your payment and send a receipt you ask for.
Square handles card payments. We never see or store your full card number.
We send a text or an email receipt only when you ask for one on our valet’s screen, and we use your number or address only to send that one receipt.
We never share or sell phone numbers for marketing. No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use advertising or cross app tracking.
Guests
The car request page
Our claim tickets have a QR code. When you scan it, a page opens where you type your ticket number and request your car, then follow it until it is ready. For this we receive your ticket number, the valet stand, the time of your request and its status. We do not ask for your name, phone number, email address or any payment on this page; nothing is paid there.
Your browser keeps a small note of your request for up to 18 hours so the page can find it again if you reload it. It is not used for anything else. The page uses no advertising or tracking cookies.
Card payments
When you pay by card, our valet takes the payment with Square, either on our app’s Tap to Pay on iPhone screen or in the Square Point of Sale app. Square reads and processes your card. Your full card number goes only to Square and is never seen or stored by our team or our systems.
From Square we receive and keep the details we need for our business records: the amount, any tip you add, the date and time, the stand, the card brand and last four digits, and Square’s link to your receipt. Tips you add go to the valets who worked that night. Square’s privacy policy is at squareup.com/legal/general/privacy.
Email receipts
After you pay, our valet’s screen asks how you would like your receipt. If you choose Email and type your email address, we use it once to send that receipt, with a link to your Square receipt. We send it through our email provider, Resend. We do not keep your address: we keep only a shortened form (for example j***@example.com) and the time it was sent, so the same receipt is not sent over and over. We do not add you to any list and we do not send you marketing email.
Text receipts
If you choose Text and type your mobile number on our valet’s screen, we send you one text message with a link to your receipt. That is the only text we send, and only because you asked for it. One message per receipt. Our text message terms are at uptownvalet.net/text-terms.
The link opens our receipt page. It shows the place, the date and time, what you paid, any tip, and the card brand and last four digits, with a button to your full Square receipt. It does not show your name, phone number or email address. Anyone who has the link can open the page, so share it only with people you want to see your receipt.
We use your number only to send that one receipt. We do not store it: we keep only its last four digits and the time the text was sent.
We send texts through our text message provider, Twilio, which receives your number only to deliver the message.
We never share or sell phone numbers for marketing. No mobile information will be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. Text messaging opt in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties.
We never send marketing texts.
Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to stop. After you reply STOP, that number will not get texts from us again.
Reply HELP for help, or contact us using the details at the end of this policy.
You never have to choose Text. Email and No receipt are always offered, and texts are not a condition of parking or paying. The full text message terms are at uptownvalet.net/text-terms.
Event clients and website visitors
When you contact us or ask us to valet an event, we collect what you send us, such as your name, phone number, email address and event details, and use it to answer you, plan your event and invoice you. Our website is hosted by a website provider that keeps standard technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security.
Employees: the Uptown Valet employee app
The Uptown Valet employee app is an internal tool for employees of Uptown Valet Inc. It is not offered to the general public. This section describes what the app collects and how it is used.
Employee identity. Your name, employee PIN, phone number, email address, and uniform sizes, provided by you or by management, used to run scheduling, time keeping, and payroll.
Location. When you clock in or out, the app records your location once to confirm you are at your assigned stand. Location is used only while the app is open. The app does not track your location in the background.
Work records. Clock in and clock out times, shifts, ticket counts, shift reports, photos you attach to reports, and payment totals for shifts you work.
Work chat. Messages and photos you send in the app’s work chat. Managers can see all messages there.
Device information. Basic app and device type information (such as iOS or Android and app version) so management can support installs, and a notification token if you allow notifications.
Card payments. Where card payments are enabled, payments are processed by Square. Card details are read and processed by Square’s payment software and are never seen or stored by Uptown Valet’s systems. A customer’s card number is not available to the valet or to Uptown Valet.
Employees may ask management to review or correct their information at any time.
Who we share information with
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share information only with the service providers that run our service, and only what each needs: Square (card payments and receipts), Twilio (text receipts), Resend (email receipts), Supabase (our database) and Netlify (hosting for our apps, the car request page and our receipt page).
We may also share information when the law requires it, or to protect our guests, our team or our business.
How long we keep it
Payment and work records are kept as long as we need them for payroll, accounting, taxes and legal requirements. Car requests are kept as long as we need them to run the service and keep accurate records. Email addresses and phone numbers typed for a receipt are not kept, as described above.
Your choices
You can always pay without asking for a receipt, or ask for one by email instead of text.
Reply STOP to any text from us to stop texts to that number.
You can ask us what we have about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by contacting us below. We will help unless the law or our records duties require us to keep it.
Children
Our service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
